Last Friday at PAX I was ushered into the most ill-conceived meeting booth ever erected on an Expo floor. Yes, room F, allocated to Norway’s Funcom, was adjacent to the Harmonix booth. Thank goodness those guys had mics. In spite of the auditory hardship, Ragnar and Martin persevered, showing off details of their game and swearing me to secrecy until today. The Secret World is intense, rooted in conspiracy theories and covert power struggles, so I was happy to comply. After all, maybe these guys know something I don’t. (more…)
I get the chance to chat with Kyu Lee, president of Gamevil, at PAX 2009 about Zenonia and their upcoming game HYBRID: Eternal Whisper. Thanks, Kyu!
Yeah, it’s a pretty alluring title, right? Don’t go submitting this on N4G and getting me in trouble! Time for a PAX anecdote…
The folks at Runic tell me all about Torchlight, due out for single player release October 27, 2009, and reveal some tidbits of the MMO version to follow.
While at PAX 2009, Shane Bettenhausen made time to chat with me about Ignition Entertainment’s upcoming title for the Wii, Muramasa: The Demon Blade. Afterwards, he walked me through some gameplay, but more on that later! (more…)
Collecting swag is a given at a games show, and collecting business cards is just as fun. Not only does it mean I’m getting to meet people that live outside my kitchen, but I get to go all design geeky and assess the relative awesomeness of the ultimate business trading item. That’s right, I bring you the best of PAX. Stuff you didn’t even know you wanted to see. (more…)

Hey guys! Just got back from PAX and can’t believe what a busy, awesome, completely great time it was – or how much info I’m going to try and get out to you all in the next 48 hours! As with most things, it’s best to just dive in.
As many of you saw I recently gave out a bunch of MAG beta codes and some PAX shirts for your avatars. Now onto the PC, specifically the guys at Nexon. Basically, they rock, and big thanks to all of them for showing me everything they’re been working on from Dragon Nest to Combat Arms. I look forward to writing up more about all three of the games I got to play at their booth, but to tide you over I have:
-Dungeon Fighter Online early access beta keys
-Dungeon Fighter Online swag codes
-Mabinogi codes for a free in game item
DFO is a fun, retro arcade style game, and if you’re curious to try it, well now seems the time. If you want any of the above, just follow me on Twitter and @ me with which of the above items you just can’t live another day without.
More updates and freebies in the coming weeks!
Pocket Gamer’s Tracy Erickson hosted Saturday evening’s PAX panel on the iPhone, kicking things off with some clips from Doom Resurrection and the not yet released Chronicles of Inotia, an RPG from Com2Us.
Followed by slides of screens from the device, Erickson gave us an illustrated history of the device and its affects on mobile. Citing things like the App Store and in-app commerce, bluetooth multi-player, touch interface and Internet connectivity, he emphasized the successful elements the newcomer to handheld is pioneering.
